Faith, who is registed as Havalil Faith, is Dream’s first foal born in 2016. She is by a 97% thoroughbred stallion, Diamond Park Sinatra. Leesha had high hopes for Faith when she bred her. She had hoped that Faith would become her second riding mare/broodmare like her dam Dream. She showed early signs of following in Dream’s foot steps. By her yearling winter, in her first two seasons of showing, she was already a multi champion inhand.
Faith unfortunately suffered a freak paddock accident in June of 2018 that put an end to her show career and any hopes of her being started undersaddle. She fractured her hip joint which according to the vets accounts for less than 10% of injuries in the hip/pelvis area. They gave her a less than 10% chance of surviving the injury. Leesha didn’t give up on her and held on to both hope and faith that Faith would recover to live a happy life. So began a two year journey of healing.
Faith spent the first 3 months on box rest which the first week and a half Leesha would sleep in there with her to insure that she was able to get up when needed. Once Faith was allowed a little more space she graduated to a small paddock on fine days which was slowly increased in size over the next 3 months. During that time she was treated fortnightly with muscle release treatments which slow was extended to monthly, then every couple of months, to yearly. She also has had Bowen therapy and regularly sue of an Activo Med blanket.
Now 4 years on Faith has made a remarkable recovery. She has exceed the vet’s expectations for her recovery. While she will never be 100% sound most days her limp is hardly noticeable. She has been cleared to become a broodmare and her first breeding to an Arab stallion is already in the planning. She is being given time to mature fully before taking on the responsibility of raising the next generation on Goldendream Sporthorses
